The Malaysia International
Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian government to attract elite’s
students from around the world to pursue postgraduate and PhD studies in
Malaysia. This scholarship is in line with Malaysia's goal to become one of the
world's top science centers, which is achieved through attracting, motivating
and retaining talented human capital from outside Malaysia.
International students with
outstanding academic records can apply for this scholarship to pursue their
studies at top universities and institutions of higher learning in Malaysia and
benefit from Malaysia's hospitality and world-class higher education
experience.

Selection criteria:
Students' applications will be
reviewed based on the following criteria

Outstanding academic and extracurricular
achievements.
·
The quality of the research proposal and its
potential to advance technology and improve human well-being, with priority for
research topics relevant to Malaysia.
·
Excellent communication, writing and reading skills
in English.
Benefit of the Scholarship
·
Full coverage of university tuition for the entire
course (will be paid directly to the university)
·
A monthly living allowance of 1,500 Malaysian
Ringgit (RM) (about US$320) will be paid to researchers every month, provided
that researchers' progress reports are submitted to the Ministry of Higher
Education (MOHE) each semester.

Bachelor's degree with transcripts for master's
degree applicants

Bachelor's degree with transcripts and Master's
degree with transcripts for PhD applicants

IITLES English language certificate with a score of
at least 6 or TOEFL paper with a score of at least 550
Ø
Two letters of recommendation
Ø
Resume or CV
Ø
Submission of an acceptance letter from a Malaysian
university (if applicable)
Ø
Presenting a 1000-word research proposal for PhD
applicants or senior research-oriented applicants
Ø
The age requirement for postgraduate applicants is
up to 40 years and for PhD applicants up to 45 years.
Ø
Applicant's minimum CGPA must be 3 out of 4
