About GCUP
GCUB (Group of Brazilian Universities for International Cooperation) is a non-profit civil association founded on October 29, 2008. It consists of a network of 104 Brazilian HEIs and 10 foreign institutions. Its mission is to develop academic, scientific, and cultural relations among its members and to promote university internationalization through international cooperation programs and projects. GCUB collaborates with international organizations, foreign universities, networks, and government bodies across all five continents.
GCUB continues its traditional scholarship program (with monthly stipends) under its International Mobility Program (GCUB-Mob). The program is aimed at international students from five continents who wish to pursue Master’s or Doctorate degrees at Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) associated with GCUB.

Benefit of the Scholarship

- Exemption from all academic fees
- Access to university restaurants
- Access to classes, libraries, labs, and university services
- Master’s: Monthly stipend for max 24 months
- Doctorate: Monthly stipend for max 48 months
Requirement after Selection

- Must go to host HEI and follow coordinator’s instructions
- Open a bank account
- Issue documents required by Brazilian government
- Present international health insurance
- Present proof of immigration regularity
- Send documents to GCUB within 45 days of enrollment

Key Application Requirement

- Submit application in Portuguese, English, Spanish, or French
- Citizen of a country with diplomatic relations with Brazil
- No Brazilian nationality
- Declare good physical & mental health
- Have financial capacity for extra expenses before receiving scholarship (airfare, visa, health insurance, living costs)
- Indicate course level in application
- Submit undergraduate diploma (regardless of chosen level)
- Doctorate candidates: Check if chosen program requires a Master’s degree (otherwise disqualified)
