Opportunity Description
The University of Pavia and the Institute of the Right to University Studies (EDiSU) offer six Committee for International Cooperation and Development (CICOPS) Scholarships for 2026 to promote international cooperation with developing countries. Eligibility Criteria
All candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Must have at least two years of teaching experience or activity within international organizations
- Currently employed (teaching/lecturer/research/technical staff), for at least two years by: a university / higher-education institution, or a public/non-profit research centre, or an intergovernmental/international public institution (only if research/technical duties are documented), based in an eligible country
- Scholarships are open to junior and senior members of universities in developing countries, major research centers, and international organizations with an interest in development studies
- Applicants enrolled in a PhD or Postgraduate Course at an Italian University are not eligible.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents:
Education- Curriculum Vitae in European format with a list of publications (file named Surname_Name_CV)
- Invitation letter from the professor or researcher with whom the applicant intends to collaborate (file named Surname_Name_Letter)
Note: Applications without correctly named documents will not be acceptable.
Selection Process
The following is the selection process for the CICOPS Scholarships for 2026:
- A selection committee comprised of the President of CICOPS and two members designated by the Rector will evaluate all the applications
- Criteria include the scientific relevance of the proposed project, the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae, and the fair distribution of grants.
- Preference goes to applicants from lower-income economies, universities with a Cooperation Agreement with the University of Pavia, or those introduced by certain honorary consuls.
- A Committee will decide by july 20, 2026

- Attach the required documents named as specified.
- Only apply once you have received the acceptance letter from your contact Professor at the University of Pavia.
- Confirm acceptance of the scholarship within 20 days of receipt of email communication.
