Job Description:
Guards and Cleaner hired under this project will be responsible for security, safety, cleanliness of office premises and staff members at Jawzjan field offices, health facilities, or project sites.
For Security Guards
- Monitor and control access to project sites, ensuring only authorized staff, visitors, and vehicles enter.
- Log entries and exits accurately for all individuals and vehicles.
- Conduct routine patrols of the premises to check for safety and security risks.
- Report any suspicious activities, risks, or incidents to the Admin Assistant and Security Focal Point without delay.
- Assist with crowd control and site safety during distributions or large gatherings.
- Ensure gates, doors, lights, and security systems are properly secured after working hours.
- Support minor facility maintenance or emergency response tasks as directed.
- Remain vigilant, courteous, and professional at all times, upholding AWRO’s code of conduct.
For Cleaners
- Clean and sanitize project offices, warehouses, restrooms, and shared spaces regularly.
- Ensure waste is collected, sorted, and disposed of properly following hygiene protocols.
- Support with cleaning before and after distributions or meetings at the project site.
- Replenish hygiene supplies (e.g., soap, tissues, disinfectants) as needed.
- Assist with basic facility upkeep, including reporting maintenance issues.
- Ensure cleanliness contributes to a safe and professional work environment.
- Cooperate with security staff and logistics teams to maintain orderly, hazard-free premises.
Job Requirements:
- At least primary education; secondary preferred
- Prior experience as a security guard (NGO experience preferred)
- Physically fit and capable of working long hours, including weekends and night shifts
- Honest, reliable, and respectful
- Good knowledge of the local area and local security context
- Good knowledge
